A fly mask provides important protection for your horse and come in a variety of different sizes and styles. A fly mask (or fly cap) is used in the spring and summer to help protect your horse from biting insects and flies by covering the eyes, jaw and sometimes the ears and muzzle. The fly mask is usually made from a mesh which is semi-transparent to allow your horse to see and hear while wearing it. Some fly masks and fly caps also provide additional protection from UV-light which can prevent sunburn in horses with pale or sensitive skin.
Protection from biting insects and flies is an important part of your overall horse care as they can cause both irritation and may also transmit disease.
